Boots,
Camping on the Cordillo Downs property is not permitted. There are big signs at the gates at each end of the property advising people not to camp. They don't mind you haveing a look at the shearing shead but that is about it. You can camp out side the property, and there are some good camp sites.
I also will be around that area in about a month, so I'll say G'day if we met.

Hi Boots

We have just returned from a similar trip and camped along Providence Creek north of Cordilla Downs which wasn't a bad spot. It even had a resident inland taipan (fierce snake) to keep us company.

The road was pretty average but didn't challenge our off-road caravan much. Much more interesting than the road into Birdsville and the Birdsville track though which were like highways. We didn't see one vehicle on the Cordilla Downs road.

Have a great trip.

Amen to the above.......there are a number of small creek crossings along that way ..... with clearings under trees etc for camping.....mind you.....we stopped along there for a cuppa one day and had to leave el pronto....huge kamikazi mozzies attached us...they were fierce......walk around for 5 minutes before you unpack......they might still be there :o) (and I wish I'd seen the snake....haven't seen one outback yet).
