I did this to my 97 80 series. Best thing I ever did for it. A lot more pickup for overtaking and tows a 1 tonne camper a lot easier.
It is a DTS fitted by the Toyota dealer. Cost $3000 neat but no 3 inch exhaust. It was fitted at 69K and the unit really started to feel it was free after 105ks on the clock.
Only problem I had was the oil return line came loose from the sump (up in
Cape York!). The dealer reimbursed me for the cost of the repairs when I returned home. It runs 10psi boost, no inter-cooler:(
Mind you, after $3k spent, I would have liked the damn thing to whistle when given a boot full but alas - it doesnt.
The same dealer also fitted a 9000lb super winch for $1450, cheaper than a warn by at least $600. Shows that the dealers are not always the most expensive. Pays to check around.
