GMC Gennies

I had some time last night to start cleaning up the gear after the recent trip to Birdsville. On our last night camped on the Cooper at Cullyamurra Waterhole the gennie had a few coughs & splutters. I tried to start it last night & no go. No fuel getting past the fuel tap.
Off with the tap to find it blocked by what looked like fine steel wool, must have been filings in the tank for the last 18 mths of use.
I have now added a fuel filter from a chain saw as it did not come standard.
So for all you locers of the litttel gennies (Not you rich people with Hondas) be warned, they do NOT have a fuel filter.
Hope this helps someone
Vince

Mine has the filter in the filler, but it seems that there were filings in the tank from new. I have now added the extra filter to be sure to be sure
