I believe it is not recommended to travel at night for this reason.

Tim it is safe to say that if you have the choice then don't travel outback Rd's at night, its that simple.

Nightfall is for making camp, cooking tucker and reflecting on the days adventure.

You don't want to hit em Tim, bullbar or no bullbar.

Being a local, I travel at night to avoid the tourists LOL. No actually it's because the kids sleep at night and let me drive in peace!! Of course when we're sightseeing we travel during the day.
Last trip I hit a big roo about 80km out of Oodnadatta, and bent the bullbar. Without it I'd be walking.
Cheers

Tim, even if there isn't a roo to be seen, have you seen the size of some of the cattle and camels that do move around at night, stay safe and cook some grub have a nitecap or 2 and get some shut eye.

Also if you are travelling up around this area, you want to have a look, not just blast past it all.

The drought over the last couple of years has really thinned them out so there's not as many to dodge. Put a decent set of lights on the front & slow down a fair bit & you'll have no problem. Cheers Craig...............

How about telling them you will go to another shop if they can not get it in in time for your trip. Amazing what 4wd shops can do if they really want to to get and keep your business. I once got my Safari snorkel fitted to the Jackaroo the day after I enquired after being told there would be a 2 week wait for delivery from interstate but using the same tactics (Just as well they didn't call my bluff though). Worst case scenario, you go without a bull-bar like you sound like you are going to anyway. Just a thought in case you hadn't tried it or looked around and were not a really pushy person.

p.s. Might be a business perusing the forum who can help you out too!
