Hi all
just wondering about the feasibility/advisability of adding moreys fuel additive to a diesel. moreys additive for petrol says that it cleans combustion chambers, injectors etc so just wondering about adding small amount to diesel fuel
Regards
Bob

I'm pretty sure there is an additive for diesel engines, injector cleaner. Nothin beats a good long run used to do wonders for my old hilux 2.2diesel.

Very mate, i don't think you can put petrol additives into a diesel i think most petrol additive are an octane boost as
well but i could be wrong.

Goodday bob (and baz)
bob i carry the moreys with me whenever we are travelling and put in 1 full measure per
tank full and with the long range also but with just the 2nd
tank a 1/2 measure was all i used we use it all the way as it seems to help combatbleepty fuel which is quite common along the
trails depending where you go it maybe hard to get and price varies we carried 2x 1l bottles last trip gave 1/2 to my mate as he picked a load of crap fuel and blew black smoke for hours when he loaded the motor but moreys seems to help clean the guts out
anyway works for me

Hi Denny,
is this the moreys for diesel or petrol? I am talking about a small amount of the petrol additive into diesel. I too have used the diesel additive in trucks and found it to be good.

Bob, I used to use Moreys fuel additive(I think it is the green labled bottle) and the Oil stabiliser (red bottle) in a couple of high mileage 350 hp Cummins engines and my 2H cruiser engine. All engines appeared to run better and smoother and the oil pressure remained good even under heavy continuous load in hot weather.
I used the oil stabiliser in a noisy 9 speed gearbox and did notice the difference . It seemed quieter.
I have no proof and didn't record any data but if I was to buy an additive it would be moreys. I suppose the reason is that is is supposedly 100% derived from oil.

Would'nt add petrol additives to diesel, or vice versa. I think any petrol additive would likely include an octane-rating improver and would therefore make diesels detonate dangerously. There are plently of diesel additvies which also advertise 'cleaning' properties, so why use a petrol type?
While having no quantitative measurements to fall back on, I have been using the OZ-made 'Dr Diesel' on and off for the last 12 months or so and the sedimenter seems to be much cleaner/clearer since I've been using it. Then again, does that mean more
water has been going through my injectors since???
