Have been running a 1992 HZJ75 Troopy for the past 2 and bit years (non turbo)
as a general tourer, usually lugging a caravan and the usual amount of gear to
operate independant of the van. Whilst not an obsolute powerhouse machine, have never found it too lacking in the general requirements of towing and cruising.
Have had considerable exposure to the 1HZ diesel over the past 10 years through
other family members and fleet vehicles and have found quite a vast difference in the characteristics of some vehicles. Some have been noticably more LAZY than others although all are basically stock as a rock. Some near new, some medium and high mileage. I have formed the opinion over this time that a lot of the power varience of the same motor is due to tuning, fuel pump and injectors.
Cant comment much on the turbo version or addition as I haven't had a lot to do with them.
Generally an absolute top vehicle and with relative minor aftermarket tickles,
suspension and so on will go anywhere and back whilst carrying half the house with you.
