Just had the OME kit fitted to my 93 Cruiser last week,medium/firm springs, shocks
and steering damper, etc.Took the car to Braidwood for the weekend to do Great
Divide 4X4 driver training, great time for a novice, highly recommended.Lots of
low range work. Running back to Syd. this morning on the Federal Hwy. very strange vibration at about 105ks. First thought was the road surface but kept
coming and going. Its not in the steering but a drumming right through the car,
comes and goes like turning a switch. The effect is similar to running on the
ripple strip on the highway. Somewhere I have read or heard of this before, after
fitting after market shocks and springs, but cannot rember where. No problems
heading to Braidwood only coming back. Very uncomfortable drive with the semi's
blowing past all the time. Anyone know whats happened?

Lost a wheel weight or mud build up in the rims.

If you aren't getting the vibe thru the steering wheel then it is coming either from the rear wheels (Lost a weight, mud as already metioned), or it could be coming from the propshafts. The uni joints are now working at a greater angle and may be on their way out. First off try greasing them. You can then remove them one at a time and drive with the centre diff locked and see if the vibe goes away.

Lifted Disco's and rangies get these vibes all the time.

This is starting to become more than coinsidence , afew posts about this lately , one of the members here is getting it at 70 kms hr . Its possible that the problem was there before , but you didnt notice it with the shot shock's . Start with wheel ballance first , then i would look at your steering damper

Thanks people, will look at the balance and clean the inside rims and see
what happens,we did some some fairly heavy offroad work on the course,so anything is possible.Steering damper is new, part of the kit,
still have the old one though. Interesting.
