Hey, just bought a 1989 vitara soft top and really enjoy it so far. Two questions:
Does anyone know if (how) somekind of roof rack could be put on it? I have a 9'4 Mal that loves to go to the beach and it fits fine with no other passengers.. however, if I take someone, the Mal can't go...
2. I am in need of a replacement seat for the driver.. any suggestions??? The old one has seen better days. Shoud I go factory or get something else.. Thanks

Cheap replacment seat would be to go to a wrecker.
Plenty of good aftermarket seats out there that would most likley be much more comfy, just not sure how many would fit the Vitara. Probally talk to (I can't belive I'm saying this!) to a 4wd shop. I didn't say BUY from a 4wd shop, just talk to ARB or somone and see what brands they reckomend, then shop around and find it at a reasonable price from a non 4wd shop.
Roof Rack, dunno, would see to me that if it's a soft top that would not be an easy option. Not impossible, but not easy...

thanks.. I will give them a look. I guess the same is true for a bull bar. I know ARB makes one that looks good for the suzuki... Anyway, looks like you get out there! Nice photos...
I have down sized from a Nissan Patrol (which blew the motor at 340,000)... hope the suzuki can keep up...

Head to places that wreck grey imports, and get some seats out of something there. Then getting them mounted and re-engineered.

thanks, but the "look" of the seat is in great condition. It is the foam under the seat that has all broken down. it is like I am sitting on the metal frame of seat. Very uncomfortable.

A trimmer can redo your whole seat. Even change the grade of foam in the seat to suit your requirements. My brother had it done to an aftermarket seat in his Cruiser. It is now better than new.
