I've bought one of the GMC $99 dollar jobs, and spent approx another $30 on Mask, hammer & sticks. It seems to work OK, I managed to weld bits of steel together, but this is also my first go at welding, so I think there may be more deficinency in the operator rather than the machine.

I did in the past have the use of a top of the line arc welder, I now have an el chepo GMC.
My welding is still very bad, just like is always was
