the old 60 series was a bit like a semi in the suspension. mine only wandered when the bushes where stuffed . I also had to be careful with tyres on my FJ it didnt like some pattens.

Probably king pin brgs as they chatter a mark in the cone, after many miles, so if you havent done them try there, and keep wheel brgs adjusted as they need to be kept firm, also have you got good suspentin bushes in the leaf springs?

Most the 60's I see are still running their OE steering damper, wander is not so noticeable with a tight steering box but when it loosens up it become a bit scary. 60 has an ajustable steering box, find a mechanic to do it, if you're not confident as too tight will make them bind on or near full lock. worth getting looked at before replacement as reco boxes cost big $$$.

as mentioned by pesty,i would be going for swivil hub bearings(king pin).they wear a notch in the bearing cone and thats where the steering wants to stay.I have had 2 old toyotas which pulled badly,replaced swivel hub kits and both felt like they had power steering.
