Am putting a fridge slide into the LHS of the cargo area of the Prado. 12mm ply bolted to the floor then fridge slide bolted to the ply. For the ply-to-floor bolts it looks like i can use some existing bolt holes towards the back of the cargo area (eg: where the removeable seats lock onto the floor etc) but not much to bolt onto nearer the cargo door. Was thinking of putting in a few rivnuts unless anyone has had a better idea?
Also, has anyone fitted one of those 52L
water containers in behind a fridge slide (ie: between the slide and the cargo barrier?) From the measurements it looks like it would be a very tight fit & perhaps not achievable

G'Day DrewT,
I also have a 120 Prado with a 50lt fridge on a slide, mounted to ply. What I did was to cut & shape a piece a marine ply to fit the entire cargo area, making it a close fit on all sides. By doing this I was able to use the four (4 ) tiredown points to secure the ply. I also cut out a section of ply over the RH
seat attachment points to allow the use of that
seat, if required. My fridge remains to the vehicle all the time ( secured by cable lock ) but the
seat comes out if I'm going away. I find this method suits me as I have no intention or need to have a perminant storage system. All my other gear is stored in plastic boxes and taken/removed, as required. I thought about one of those 52lt
water containers but find that the two (2 ) 25lt plastic containers are suffient and more flexable for me than a single fixed supply.
Good luck with your setup.
Regards,
Capt. Wrongway.

Not sure how the 120 goes for width between the wheel arches - I've got a 90, and just fitted the following:
Cut out the lower half of the cargo barrier (grill bit only)
fitted three 20 litre jerry cans
fitted a 4lpm pump and switch
Now have pumped
water at the back of the vehicle. Excellent!!
Benefits of the three jerries are..
If you hole one container, the others are still in good nick
If you contaminate one container, the others are still in good nick
they're dirt cheap
can fill them in the car, or take them out
After 10 days away, they work reeeaaallly
well ;-))

Hi there
we also have a Prado 90 and have a 40L engel on LHS. It is all mounted on a system similar to what you are describing and works really
well. For
water we looked at the 52L container but would not fit, or at least would be very tight and compromise air flow for the fridge. I did a DIY job with a single 20L plastic jerry from Bunnings, some hose fittings and plastic hose. Now have gravity feed to back door with a low pressure tap (the 12mm irrigation system type). also made a small attachment that will take a clip on hose fitting and then push onto the tap on the vehicle. can back fill the jerry through this (just as you can with the 52L). I made a vent pipe out of the top fitting using plastic hose and cable tied to the cargo barrier. easy fill job where a hose is available.
Cheers

thanks for your good ideas folks. am now planning on a full width piece of ply (rather than the LHS only), using all 4 tie down points. will include cutouts for the folding
seat mounts.
Still not sure about the 52L
water container .. will need to think about that a bit more!!
