GQ diesel fuel pump leak

I have a leak on the top of my GQ Ford Maverick diesel fuel injection pump. Now some time ago there was thread about this 'n I can't find it. But it mentioned that one had to be careful removing the offending seal as there was "a small something or other" that could get lost by accident.

I seem to remember it was a small strainer or filter??? Can anyone assist with exactly what lurks under/above or around this the seal???

Thanks,

Bilbo

If I remember it was a Spring. Cant be sure though.

When you search, make sure you search the Archives as well as the current threads.. Then again, when Ive searched for things in the past, that I know are there, they havent showed up either.

Thanks "Truckster". I tried everything to find it - same as you, without luck. Anyhow, I'll do the seal 'n see what flies out!
