I am equally as dumb when it comes to this IT stuff so my help may not be the right stuff.

I would surmise that you have to connect your GPS via serial port or USB cable to you computer. Put the CD in to the slot on your computer, go to My Computer and have a look where the CD is and open it. Then you have to figure out how to download to your GPS or upload from your computer to your GPS.

If all else fails........READ THE INSTRUCTIONS !!.......hahahahaha

The GPSmap 76C comes with Trip & Waypoint Manager.

It should be pretty much a standard Windows install.
Try it and let us know if you have any problems.

Trip & Waypoint Manager lets you transfer Waypoints, Routes and Tracklogs between your GPS and your PC (both ways).
It also has a basic (coastlines and main highways only) map on the PC that you can overlay them on.
You cannot transfer any maps to the GPS with T & W M

Garmin has other MapSource products (City Navigator or MetroGuide or BlueChart) that have detailed maps that can be loaded into the GPS. Of course, they cost more.
