Hi all,

First post here, so be gentle!! Great site and forum, days and days of reading, pity I'm at work .....

Driving from Kalgoorlie to Sydney this weekend, towing an enclosed race car trailer, want some thoughts.

Which is the best way to go once we reach Port Augusta, either up through Broken Hill-Dubbo-Bathurst way or down through Renmark-Mildura-Griffith-Bathurst way.

Any information is appreciated.

Cheers, Glenn.

Go via the Hill as the roads have less traffic and it is 110 kmph all the way to Dubbo.

G'day Glenn,

Go to www.travelmate.com.au and click on "map maker" you can get directions, distances and travel times as well as a route map.

They suggest Broken Hill - Dubbo - Bathurst

Have a good trip.

Tend to agree with the others about going through BH.

If you do decide to go the other way (Pt Orgutta, Clare, Burra, Morgan, Renmark etc), then when you get to NSW, don't go thru Griffith-Bathurst etc (unless you have people to see in those towns etc). Instead, you'd continue on the Sturt Hwy past Hay, Narrandera, Wagga Wagga, then onto the Hume Hwy to Gundagai and onwards to Sydeneeee.

Have a safe trip and welcome to the greatest forum on the web.

Cheers

Thanks for the responses so far, I'd be keen to hear others thoughts as well. BH way may be the way to go by the sounds of it.

Which way do all the East-West trucks go, anyone know?

Cheers, Glenn.

Hey D-Jack,

No, not a drag car, a Speedway Car (Litre Sprintcar), coming across to do a meeting at Parramatta City Raceway (PCR) on the 12/03/05 before Easter, then at Easter (26/03/05) our Australian Title is on.

Think the Drag Racing Nationals are on this weekend in Perth?

Cheers, Glenn.

Yes I agree with the Broken Hill option but DO NOT drive at night through that area as there is abundant wildlife on the road and can ruin your trip.
