My in-laws recently replaced their coleman 3 way
fridge in their caravan with a 240V bar
fridge. Like you they only ever hook up to 240V so the only thing they really have to worry about is when the
fridge is off whilst in transit. But they don't really travel more than 400km's between stops so they just make sure the
fridge is nice and
cold before they unplug it and everything pretty much stays
cold enough. In their case, the 3 way was working perfectly, they just didn't want to be bothered with having to level it off and change over the power source etc. I must admit I think they're solution is a little short sighted though as they may regret this decision if they ever get a little more adventurous and head further afield.
