There are heaps of place to go to, best idea would be to do searches on here or the web.
There are our lovely beaches, especially 40 mile otherwise known as Teewah or
Coloured Sands north of Noosa, 2 nice Gorges Cania or Caranvon (info below) if you are going up that far?

If you're interested in a good people friendly N.P. try Girraween N.P. on the Nsw/Qld border but if you want something more 4WD challenging then try Sundown N.P. just opposite Girraween. (good for a day drive in if staying at Girraween)
I will not comment on a towing a trailer in as we never saw anyone with them.
Sundown is not generally visited because of the rough 4WD track into it.
Here you will take approx 2 hours to travel just the track into Burrows Waterhole which is quite a nice camp area.
You will need to carry EVERYTHING in and out.
