Prado light fitting removal

A recent post on LED globe replacement reminded me I need to replace one of the globes in the map/interior front light in my 2001 Prado. The question is . . how do you remove the cover to get at the interior? I have had a good look and I can't see any section of it where you can slip a blade or something similar behind it to pop it out. Cant see any easy way to remove the complete fitting either. Any Toyota specialists out there that enlighten me?

Our gregory's is for 96-2000, but would think it would still be the same

1 using finger pressure, prise the reading lamp assembly from the roof lining. Disconnect the wiring connector and withdraw the lamp

2 Insert a flat bladed screwdriver between the cover and the base, on the opposite side of the switches. Release the tabs and separate the cover from the base.

One the bulbs are changed, just reverse the above directions

If it is a 120 series.

The lamp is locked on the bottom of the assembly.

Gently put a flat bladed screwdriver between the lamp assembly and the roof lining, and gently pry out. That is the lower or windscreen side.

The lamp assy will swing down and then can be fully removed by disengaging the dogs at the top.

The secret is gently

Thanks for the replies . . . mission acomplished , all I have to do now is find a supplier of 10W 12v miniture bulbs ! Usual auto globes are 3W. Might have to go Toyota or does anyone know of a LED replacement for them ? ? I have ordered a 1 1/4" festoon type LED replacement for the rear light from supplier mentioned on another post.
I have left the cover off till I replace the globes.
