Itercooler

Thinking of installing an intercooler to my rodeo, can anyone think of any problems or adjustment I would encounter or need to do e.g. overheating, fuel pump, timing etc. I am sourcing a 2.8 L Isuzu intercooler. The intercooler can be fitted straight on engine (a hole has to be cut into the bonnet); the only difference I can see is that it has two vacuum valves.

First thing you should be looking at is how many Klm's has the engine done and is it it up to the extra power/torque that will be imposed upon it. As a intercooler cools the charge from the turbo it increases the oxygen mixture in the mixture, which inturn creates a bigger bang hence more power/torque but also more heat which can damage your motor significantly quicker. So i would make some enquires with aftermarket diesel turbo specialist and ask what they recommend. Cheers

Furrydog, I have fitted an intercooler to my 2.8 Rodeo. It is fantastic. Contact HiTech, who carry out the entire installation, including the hole in the bonnet.

they are on Churchill Road, Kilburn in Adelaide. They are ood people to deal with, I highly reccomend them.

have 2000 dualcab rodeo front mounted intercooler and 2 1/2'' exhaust works very well with around 100kw bit of work fitting but worth it

sorry didnt actually read all the question, have had no problems at all in regards to overheating and there is no need to touch the fuel pump but it does clutter under bonnet area
