2 Questions Good LPG Mech in Alice and Tyres Brigestone D694

I was after some info if anyone knows of a good LPG general mechanic in Alice Springs. Another question on brigestone D694 Tyres anyone have them and what do they think I currently have Mitchelen ltx m/s on my 80 and they have been brilliant but are not made anymore I have been told any other suggestions would be fantastic.

In the US they call 694's - "Revo's" . I will be interested to hear from others about the 694's as I am considering them also along with BFG's. I have got about 10,000 K's life left in my 693's to decide.

Bob Clarke @ Fidler and Clarke is in my opinion a very knowledgeable mechanic. Very good on diesels, if he doesn't work on lpg conversions he should know someone who does. They now work out of the old western diesel premises on the Nth Stuart Hwy and are a Don Kyatt franchise. Just did injector timing, wastegate and fuel pump settings on my td42t. Going great, exhaust temps down and plenty of power.

Just buoght the 694's a couple of weeks ago, they've done a trip to Frazer but otherwise not much work. The tread pattern and compound are totally different to the 693 - they look more aggresive (a little more noise). Think I will need a bit more time with them to form a meaningful opinion but felt that the compound seemed slippery at first, mind you the car carries a fair bit of weight. By the time we were heading home from Frazer these tyres had settled in and drove a lot better than just out of the tyre dealership.

Getting up to the 10thou mark on the 694s , so far cannot fault , tread depth seems to be more than 693s ,is definitly noisier on the blacktop at same psi as 693s , run 2psi less noise dissapears.

I have 694's on the front as I punctured 2 x 693's in a weekend and there was no more 693 stock in Aus. 694 more aggressive and so far better puncture resistance. I will get more when these are shot.

i think it was big red garage ????? the add is on the town map and info given out at macdonnell range c/p in a group of factories beside railway north side
he was doing a lot of gov cars but looked after me when i had a few problems

I have been turning over tyre issues very recently as one of my Wimpy Dunlops on my T/D Prado 120 copped a side wall spike when cutting some wood in the scrub. Got all the poop on the D694 and looks and sound like a great tyre. We in Kalgoorlie are a conservative lot however. Everyone I am speaking to just keeps saying Coopers,Coopers,Coopers. No I don't work for Coopers.
Mining and exploration dudes are lazy guy's who like me want to drive rather than frig around with tyres .Some guys who use their vehicles every day over sometimes outrageous obsticles in the mining Industry have told me "yeah Coopers just get em".
I'm Sold some tosser who drives on the gibb river road once every 2 years can have an opinion but some of the guys 4Wdriving every day have given the Coopers the nod. You can draw your own conclusions. I'm getting a ATR Cooper next week and will change the lot over when the Dunlops flog out ...if they last that log.

My experience with 694s so far, at about 10,000ks, is good. Mostly city running but a reasonable amount of soft sand work as well (at lower pressures).

Hi all.

I have been running 694's for about 12 months on a GQ. Overall I thingk they are good but I am a little dissapointed in them in the wet. Not all the time but when giving it a little boot coming out from a sidesteet for example. They tend to come unstuck a little. I have been toying up with replacing them even though not worn much.

Could be the pressure. Can others tell me what pressure they are running in theres
