ULP in an '81 FJ60 - Yes!

Hi All
I've been a lurker on ExplorOz since I got my hands on an '81 Fj60 -2F with 155K on the clock(genuine as far as I can tell) a month ago. I call her Rocinante (after Don Quixote's horse - I intend to to a lot of travelling in/on her evein if I don't find too many windmills to tilt at).
Being the cautious type, I asked Toyota if I could run on ULP because the previous owner told me he'd always used LRP/Super. Got the answer today (via email, from a bod in Toyota Customer Relations).
He said that the 2F/3F is fine with ULP, but suggested that I get the motor tuned "shortly after changing to ULP".
With the price of LRP in Augusta over Easter close to $1.30 per litre I'm now smiling again.

My daughter has just finished going down this road with her Subaru.

She found some good info at aip.com.au

Do a search within the site, and find out what, if any additives you will need.

Good luck.

Even still, it would be cheap insurance to run a valve saver kit.
