Shovel Holder options

We are looking for shovel holder options available. At this stage I only found
the following rear door Shovel & Axe holder Shovel Holder
Does anyone know any other alternatives? I don't have roofracks on the car all the time, so this option is out.

On the 90series Prado I used two pieces of 8mm shot cord to attach the shovel to the spare. Looped it thru one spoke, then twice around the handle, then hooked onto the other side. Very simple and works well. Shoud be able to do the same with the 120.

I bought the Rhino shovel holders from TJm. They have one bolt each and I just drilled a hole in my roof rack and slide the shovel along. They are about 36 bucks I think. Nice and simple, out of the way and easy to get to.

I've seen an alloy version very similar to the one on the link you gave. Had a Brown Davis sticker on it so you could try there.

Done similar research for a shovel/axe holder for our GU. Try this mob cj4wd. I spoke to the guy Colin Files about a year ago and was quoted $145 plus postage. Unfortunately I can't give you first hand feedback on the product itself as I never went ahead with the purchase at that time. Still on the wish list...

yeah.. i welded two tabs onto my bullbar and fitted a couple of short tubes with wingnut bolt into them and slide the shovel through them...

We've got the Brown Davis Aluminium version, bought it $49, about six months later someone who liked ours went to price them and was told over $100.

We bought it from TJM, just make sure you get the right stud pattern!!

There are photos of it on our car in our rig photos!!

IF you have some small threaded holes in your mag wheel hubs to hold chrome caps on, you could seize upon that as a mounting method. Drill through the lower handle of the shovel at a suitable spot - place the shovel in situ against the tyre and measure the gap - buy a bolt of suitable length (plus a spare for the kit). Special length metric bolts can be obtained from the Coventry Fasteners chain.
Just run the bolt through the handle and into the hub hole, when tight, it will keep the shovel snug against the rubber tyre. Sorry - no photo - mine is up on the roof now, when I'm bush - needed the wheel area for another toy. Whatever.....That was my method anyway......PS: If you weld a wing onto the bolt head, you won't need a spanner to get it off - PS2. A good ocky as a safety backup seems sensible in case the bolt breaks - would be a bummer to find the shovel gone at days end, and dangerous for anyone following !

I have a home made version of the Brown Davis unit, made out of steel for about $30 and 6 hours work. When I change vehicles just cut out the stud patten from another peice of steel plate and weld the new one back in.

I Purchased a L.H.S.M.B. from ARB (its the second one down) because I found that the other shovels weren’t long enough to get under the Paj in soft sand check out the Link Kaymar
