Hilux IFS v's Hilux Coil Dbl Wishbone

Hiya,

Question for the suspension people.

Given the negative views towards the IFS suspension in the Hilux's and Cruisers (and many other brands / models out there), is the setup in the new hilux a better solution?

Obviously the front leaf days are gone as consumers apparantly want better handling etc.

Just wondering if the double wishbone coil setup in the new hilux is a step forwards, backwards or indeed sideways.

If the double wishbone/coil is set up and designed correctly it could be very durable.
Still probs with lack of travel (depending on design, depends on length of wishbone past the springs) and much harder to upgrade than solid axle/coil or leaves.
Better than torsion bar though.
If done right it could be a step to the NE or NW rather than east or west ;-))
My Humvee has coil/wishbone all round, is bulletproof and gives an excellent ride and handling.
