injector pump timing on 79 landcruser

hi just wondering if any one has had troble with injector pump timing on 79 series posted 2108 over heating problem if the timing is out will this corses over heating and excess fuel consumption and poor performence, problem i think was their before the turbo was bolted on and any one with egt gage after turbo would be interested in knowing what exhurst temps are running at i have got mine back to max 500 c towing a very heavy trailer 2 ton in fourth gear and engine is still over heating thanks .
