I spoke to a retailer of these bizzo's the other day. He said they only give you lat &long. Can't be used like the flash one's that have plot charts or can take you back to where you were five minutes ago by showing an arrow.

Have limited use if you are after that sort of thing. Compare $450 to buying a UHf and separate GPS unit, spend the extra a buy the separate units.

Got a GPS205 for chrissie and found usefulness very limited, best use is the accurate speedo readings and the overspeed alert function.

Had a look at the weekend as my old GPS is on the way out.
Very limited is the only comment. Basic Lat long , speed and distance. Only function that maybe handy is the ability to find other callers that have the same unit. It will give the direction & distance to another GPS/UHF unit.
I have made up my minde to go for a new Garmin

Depends on what you want.

For the dollars, it's excellent. Keep in mind that it is only a simple unit with lat/long, altitude, compass based navigation, over speed alert, red light camera, speed camera, black spot camera warnings, and a UHF radio.

The quality of the UHF is better than what Uniden usually produce.

But if you need mapping, waypoints, etc., then you'll be disappointed and you would need to spend a lot more for a separate GPS.

It's fine for my purposes.

Pretty happy with mine, although the menus on screen are pretty small to the eye.

I have one too. Agree about the menu system. Can be very difficult to see and use on the move. Also agree about the value for money aspect. It is a cheaper option than seperate transceiver and GPS unit but you get what you pay for, a budget set in every sense of the word.

Uniden stuffed up o this one, very limited indeed. When you think about it, a 1 watt unit on its own and say an Etrex is not going to hurt the budget. I can't believe Uniden brought out a GPS/Radio with no basic requirements like being able to save waypoints. It's not practical enough.
