DUAL BATTERY IN NEW PAJERO ??

I wondered if any one has a dual battery in the model pajero, i am amazed at how little room there is under the bonnet, and thought this might be a prob. I see people advertising that it can be done, just thought if you have done this you may be able to email me a pic, as i am in the bush and have to research before i go and book it in.

No problem with the diesel, plenty of room for a 10 inch battery, 12 inch is possible but very tight and you need to bend some aircon pipes. This is my install

Martin thats the same spot they put my DB in My NM Plenty of room one suggestion is to make your original battery the Aux Battery and the new One your Starter that way you don't have to Re wire any of your accessories I had mine done through ARB Ozzy Park.

No problem for the DiD.

Trays are made by TJM; ARB and Pirahna. I used the Pirahna one and it was very easy to mount using the factory mounting holes. Kit came with all the bolts.
There is even a guy in Sydney who stocks the original Mitsubishi tray that he imports from Japan.

The Pirahna mounts so that battery is at 90 degs to cranking battery while the ARB replaces the whole OE tray and I think the seconmd battery is fitted "in-line".

I didn't bother mounting anything under the bonnet. I went for a portable dual battery set up and put the second battery in the 3rd seat well. Was fantastic the other weekend when we couldn't park the car next to the tent. Out with the battery and put it in the tent so we still had power.

Depends on what you want the battery to power. When I had my NL, I ran a 700CCA battery. This would easily run a fridge, radio and lights, without any serious drain.

You need to assess what it is you are powering, what the draw current is, add 25% and that will be the size of your battery.

I support the idea of portable power. It can provide a kick start if needed.
