Try Alex Daws in central Victoria - might have one or know of one - 0417 566 022 - he supplies and installs used Codan HF systems.

Mine sits on the rear so It doesn't get damaged, I take the areal off when in overgrown bush.

Ahh, Davoe, you've yet to see the light. (Min Min ?). You are correct, a whip is much longer lasting if you go around assaulting trees and service station lights.

However a whip doesn't have an inbuilt preamp. You can't really scan several frequencies to listen for a selcall.

Ever changed frequencies at night....in the rain...or a sandstorm. I have , give me an atu any day.

Go around making statements like this " at least you can pull a multi tap off" and even Kalgoorlie types will start to look at you funny :))))))))

If you used hf you would know night use is difficult due to indon boat people making it near immpossible. My experience is from using them in thick bush while bushbashing for work with a company that has used them for as long as they have been around and instead of mucking about just uses what works not just just a bit of recreational use

Davoe, why do you assume that I just use em for a bit of recreational use ? What makes you think that I haven't been using HF in the bush before you were born ?
Before assuming anything, give people the benefit of the doubt .

G'day Troopytrek,

You could try Roger William's in Kalgoorlie. I think a multi tap would be the way to go
