I bought the same pump 12 mths ago off same seller, its been beaten about like nobodys bizzzo, and still works fine. Not keen on the foam inserts in the carry bag though.. they crumble too easy

yeah.... got to be careful.... bought some cheap spotties which i had intended to wire to the rear for better lighting whilst reversing. The spotties came but the casing of both the spotties were cracked... the online store refused to accept responsibility.

Chinese crap is a little hit and miss. I have bought some really good chinese crap off ebay and I have got some shockers.

It all depends on what 2c part they decide to remove at manufacture, sometimes they get away with it, sometimes it's detremental to reliability/ performance. That's why when I here people say "it's all made in the same factory anyway" I laugh.

Maybe it is made in the same factory, but how much did the buyer screw the manufactor on the price? What did they decide to cheapen up or remove to make it worth their while to produce it for that price?

We used to get this all the time, we had many different grades to chose from when importing computer equiptment and power supplies, they all look the same though.... Sometimes the power supply with half the rectifier missing worked fine, sometimes they wouldn't, sometimes they'd work fine till there was a small power spike then blew themselves to peices... Somtimes they take everything else out with them!

But in saying all this, I bought a 5.1 Digital 100w per channel amp off ebay for my home entertainment system, I checked things like the weight of the product before ordering, knowing full well that a 5kg 500w amp is going to be crap, this one was 16kg so I figured unless they filled it with bricks it had a good chance of being half decent. It is, it's a great performer. But you never know what your going to get...

The pump is till working at the moment but I wish i had bought it from a local store now as I would have demanded the cash back. I just have to figure out how to replace all the rubber feet/grommets that have failed.

I was looking at buying a cordless drill on ebay either dewalt or makita but i think i will buy it at a local hardware store for the peace of mind.

Nick, I think from Trucksters post, they are ok, just drop into CLark Rubber and grab some good suitable feet for it! I think we all know Ebay if expect the worst but hope for the best!

I have a crappy phone cable for my Nokia that doestn even work, with software that the `seller' downloaded as trial software! Missig most the features!

dont talk to me abot chinese drills My chinese old faithfull kicked th bucket after putting up a fence and 1 half a carport so I popped to bunnings (5 min away) intending on getting a bosh but came away with an xu1. It lasted 1.5 holes and was rattling after the 1st and died in a plume of smoke in the 2nd I had it back to the girl in under 1half an hour - dead I didnt take it out on her but when adsked if i wanted another replied take the credit off of a´bosh - still got it

I bought an Ozito 20V hammer drill, simply because sometimes I have to come back to a job to fit some pipe covers after the job is complete.... 4 X 5mm holes!... having a "cheap" hammer drill means I can save time running the ext lead out for the Hitachi.... heck the people don't even have to be home!

but I did try one of tose Heavy Duty 12V truck compressors.... got about 6 air ups outta it before it disappeared in a cloud of smoke! I now own an OX.... no probs at all!!!!

Now I'm as povo and cheap as the next guy. But I've been in too many situations where I needed to take tyre pressure down and couldn't due to lack of a decent compressor.
I bought a cheap one years ago and it took one look at my tyres and died on the spot (although I stood around for 40 mts thinking gee its slow:)
If my memory serves me right , they used to be around 5-600+ . So when they came down to 300 I thought thats it, I'm gonna get one of those babies.
A Big Red was duly purchased.
If Viagra works as quickly and well as my compressor ...well what more can I say? :))
Now I can air up and down with confidence, and sneer at the cheap ones.
4WD tyres, the sit on tyres, car tyres, trialling bead breakers, the list goes on.
Compressor wise, I'm a very happy camper.
