Ive had a X9 for 3 1/2 years on an 80. Can't fault it. Much cheaper than the Warn. Line pull is a bit slower due to graeater gear reduction but if you need to winch, you're not in a hurry - unless in competion but then you wouldn't be using a Warn 9000lb either!

Hi Voxson, I've used it occasionally. Used it twice up Cape York and a few more times on weekend trips, pulled a few stumps out of my garden and use it to lift the camper section off my off-road trailer etc. I try not to get into situations that my only option is to winch but alas, it happens. The hand control works just fine. I have replaced the winch cable once because I kinked it but that has nothing to do with the winch's abilities, my own fault. By the way, cables are much cheaper (for any brand winch) from an industrial supplier rather than a 4x4 shop, up to 1/3 of the price for exactly the same winch cable. I now have 38 metres of cable on the drum.

Hi, i've also had one for about 5 yrs, used only a couple of times, since fitting twin airlockers it's virtually redundent, the difference between the warn&superwinch warn has 4 solinoids against 2 & also the s/winch comes with a circuit breaker setup in power lead (300 amps) but advised by distributer to toss it to get full use of 400 amps to attain the 9000lb rating. I think they still have only the 2hp motor ( reason for being on the slow side ) Yes it plugs in the solinoid box, i have mine mounted to the aux batt box & remote switches in the dash. hope this has helped.

Hopefully being a Toyota standard part (I think) should also inspire some confidence.

I'm pretty sure this winch has a Toyota part number.
