Cruiser1, almost. For convenience I had a set of brackets fabricated that alow me to bolt the seats in from the side, (making removal much easier) they also allowed me to move the seats back a bit as the holes in the seats put it well forward.
The brackets are like two L shaped sections made of 25mm box with a 3-4mm flat section coming off them. The flat sections mount to the existing rails and to the seat. The two box sections go together inverted with a drilled and tapped hole in the ends for the side mounted bolt.
Oh for the ability to post diagrams.
Any way it's all legal because the rails were not moved.
I can probably organise a diagram for you if you like.
