We came from Yunta down the backway through Danggali to renmark last October and it took about 5hrs to get down without stopping to look at anything. Was a good drive but like everywhere else it is very dry up there. Hope the
weather forecast for rain on Tuesday will be right.
You will need to book at Danggali to camp as the areas for
camping are restricted.
The ranger there is Mate Osborne and his phone no. is 08 8595 8010 take him a copy of the Advertiser and he'll love you for it.
If you want to camp on the river, there are plenty of camp sites around Chowilla, at Lyrup, Katarapko as the long weekend is usually quiet here. Nights are frosty now.
The
Border track south of Pinnaroo is closed until decent rains occur but the run from Murtho down to Pinnaroo is OK. Don't follow the track all the way down to the bitumen at Pinnaroo but turn of a couple of k's before so you don't pass through the road block.
You could spend the 3 days just doing that bit if you stop to smell the roses although not many rose bushes out there. LOl

Thanks mate,
I havent spoken too the ranger yet, I presumed such a big park would have loads of
camping spots.
We are staying in
Paringa with some friends this weekend, and am hoping too head down the
border track, how many driving hours would you think Renmark- Pinnaroo would take. With 4 kids under 7 I would expect numerous stops.
