Submitted: Friday, Jun 03, 2005 at 11:53

Truckster (Vic)

People still happy with theirs?

Mines startin to crash a few times lately and still dont think the ring tone is that loud..

also when I put it in the genurine kyocera carkit, sometimes takes 2-3 turns to get it to work via the kit.

apart from that it is ok.

gotta stop playin tetris, upto 78,000 high score now :)~

Mine's fine still - only use it solo - no car kit. The ring is pretty quiet as you say, on max.... some tones are more 'loud' than others it seems (or noticeable). The speaker phone function is a winner in my view - as a result, in the car, I sit it on the dash and don't need hands free wires - just hit the little button as I cruise on.

Sounds good banjo but one of the girls at work did that, took a bit of a bend to exit the freeway & the phone went flying out the open window. After a truck & car had been over it, there wasn't much left of it. This time she's bought one of those phone holders from the 2buck shop to stop it sliding around (not sure how much it cost hahha)

Indeed - "on dash" as I say means in the phone cover, clipped onto a small bracket used for the GPS ..... BUT I still keep the window up a bit .... I'm so old now that I could foresee the phone whipping out the window one day ! These youngsters ! What do they know ? Well.....lots, probably.........

Hey Truckster,

if you call your service provider they can generally reset your ring tone from their systems, it will not make the ring louder but they will set the default to 30 seconds instead of the standard 15 seconds. It may just give you enough time to hear it. Most times we do hear the ring it just doesn't register the extra 15 seconds gives you more time to get it out of your pocket.

cheers,

Ren

Did that with mine. Made a big difference.

I also switch it to Vibe mode when I put it in the belt pouch or pocket.

Truckster,
when you ring a call centre and you get an automated response service, when they ask you to punch in your number hit the hash key on the phone 3 or 4 times. This confuses the system and it then diverts you directly to a consultant. Saves heaps of time and really pi55e55 of the centre management.

Now remember I didn't tell any one this, (not my centre so I really don't care).
