Took that route on a trip to Agate Creek at Easter this year. Actually, we only went through the valley of the lagoons on the way home. When going from Ingham, the road is gravel from about Mt Fox itself all the way to the Kennedy Dev Road. It was in pretty good condition though. We probably averaged around 70 or 80 kph in the 100 series along the road. That road was one of the better dirt roads we encountered and was in better condition than the Kennedy Dev Road South of the Lynd Junction. From memory, there's not much at the valley of the lagoons, just a bunch of lakes (that were pretty near dry) and a homestead. Quite nice to look at on the way past but that's about it. I'm guessing a KTM 950 is a motor bike? Shouldn't have any problems, obvioulsy it'll be dry and dusty though, hot during the day, cold at night. If it's wet the road could deterieorate badly, I'd say. Any other specific questions?
In case you didn't know, the only way to see the Lava Tubes is by Savanna Guide tour. Not particularly cheap either. Same with camping etc at the Undara NP, only place is at the Savanna Guide Station.
We were going to take the route via Blencoe falls home. Apparently you used to be able to turn East off the Kennedy Dev Road about 12 km South of the Gulf Dev Road junction. Apparently the road goes through some private properties and passes homesteads such as Meadowbank, Minnamoolka, Cashmere and Glen Ann so there are quite a few gates etc to negotiate. Apparently that is a very scenic route but the road was closed when we came past, so we went for the valley of lagoons route instead.
We travelled quite a few of the other roads in the area so let me know if you have any questions.
