Alex,
I have been running D693s on my Pajero for about a year now and found them to be as close to the perfect tyre as you can get. I have suffered no punctures, even over a couple of days of sharp gibbers and the
tyres were nothing like as cut up as the Yokohamas I used to run. They have proved to be excellent on the bitumen as well and wear rates seem good. They are a little harsher riding than the old Yokos, but seem smoother than BFG A/Ts, and are definitely quieter.
They are less impressive than the BFGs in mud though - where I see people just cruise through mud holes I seem to generate more wheelspin. I still get through though which is more than I could say for the Yokos !
A buddy of mine had also fitted them and run them through the Simpson with no obvious ill effects.
A top tyre.
Good luck and enjoy the trip.
