Hi mumwith2 and skinny,
just reading the post with interest, we went up to
Darwin last year - incl
Oodnadatta Track, and also Ayres Rock etc on the way back, this year we're headed to the
Gulf country - we have 2 kids - 4 & 5, we certainly would recommend some sort of stone protector, and have bought one through
Tambo camper trailers as they were great value and a great guard, as extra protection we will have cardboard taped to the back window to prevent any stones smashing the rear window, we did this last year and it saved the window - at least from the stone impressions that were left it did, there is also the type of stone guard that is like a sling between the camper and the car - made out of shade cloth.
cheers, glad the trip went well mumwith2, and enjoy the planning Skinny.
Lyn
