Storing the dunny

I have at the insistance of the misses, bought a small porta loo. Was wondering how everyone transports theirs. The only space I have is in the car and was thinking that a waterproof case might be handy in case of any unfortunate accidents. Any one know of such a case?

there's a company called infront camping gear...www.infrontcampinggear.com.au who make canvas bag for transporting a porta potti, however, I'd try to get hold of a plastic box, Member JohnR has one, I think he said he got it from Ikea and was a child's toy box.

There is a company in Adelaide called Hall's Canvas. They are always at the various shows. The will make up a sturdy canvas "box" that opens at the top with a zipper. It has two strong handles that make it easy to carry the whole thing. I think it cost about $40.00

We are very happy with ours. We haven't had a spill yet to test it but it would easily contain splashes from the water tank as you travel along. Ours sits under the table in the van for transit. We anchor it with some old foam cushions and a strap.

We use the funny contraption called a spade too.
Have a small one for the toilet stops, with a roll of toilet paper on the handle.

Took a few years and a trip through Europe (gross toilets there) for the wife to decide that a hole with a bit of timber (jacking plate) on the front for secure footing is alot cleaner and easier than a portable loo.

We always find that ergonomically, you get a more effecient clean out squatting. Don't think the bowels were designed to flushed on a seat.
Don't you lean forwards a little when the going gets a little hard?

Try those arguments on the wife. Besides the fact she will have to clean it if she requires it. That could be a bit nasty to say though.

Ours rides in the boot of the Falcon, been there for most of the last 6 years with no cover or box etc. It's got a few superficial marks on it, leaked in but never leaked out.

We dont always camp where the ground is nice and soft and after a trip to cape york last year, I reckon we should all carry a porta porti. Literally crap & toilet paper everywhere. If everyone carried one, we might have some nicer camp spots around.
