servicing the 2.8 diesel turbo

I am after some quick info if possible.

I want to service the patrol I have just brought and would like to know the filter numbers etc that I require.
eg: oil, petrol and air filter numbers?

I would also like to know what type of oil to put in the engine and how much it requires?
Someone also said that I should put in a tube o0f stop smoke aswell as some injector cleaner.
This should help clear up any smoke issues etc.

Thanks

If your Patrol has a vehicle hand book, it will tell you the type of fluids as well as their specification. As for the filtert part numbers, just ring your local (or any) Nissan spares dept. and they will tell you. You just need to supply them with the vehicle VIN number (in the engine bay at the rear on the firewall will be a plate with this info)

G'Day.

I use genuine oil and fuel filters, $36 for oil, $28 for fuel.

Oil itself is Caltex Delo CXJ. This is supposed to be as close to the Japanese spec oil on the market as you can get, has a label on the drum, "for high speed japanese diesel engines". $100 for 20ltrs

Remember that 5,000k changes will do a lot of favours for the 2.8
