Adam

Does anyone have ideas as to where I can stroe my 10hp evinrude tinny motor? I have seen them attached to the bullbar. Is this effective
? Is there a way to connect it to the back of the vehicle?

cheers

Type of vehicle? Adam.
Safelty rules will get you in tyrouble with the outboard on the front if it is infront of the bullbar

oops, the car is a 1988 troopy; the roof is out as the upside down tinny takes up our racks. Any ideas?

Sorry Adam hit the wrong button, the other possibility depending on how far you want to travel with the tinny is an electric outboard, less weight, less fuel, and the troppy charges the battery as you drive

adam do yopu run spare wheel carrier if not why not build rack of same design to tack your motor or if you already have one put oneon the other side be carefull putting it up front i used to carry high lift jack bolted to bull bar till i had bingle & found that the jack was not covered due to the fact it should not have been there, could get expensive with boat motor

The most elegant solution is unfortunately the most expensive. On the rear of our Landcrusier we fitted a Kaymar two tyre system & then had a plate made for one of the tyre holders to carry our outboard.

These rear tyre systems are great, on the Landcruiser at least - also allows the spare to come out from underneath leaving space for a long range tank. The catch is not only cost of course but also weight - we are towing a 3,000kg van so unfortunately to carry the boat, motor, trailer etc etc took us over our GVM so we are moving to an F250. With the Troopy you probably will not have this GVM problem.

Adam,
just been through the same situation with my GQ and ended up putting the spare tyre on the roofrack and made a plate to fit tyre bracket for the motor.Works a treat and keeps the motor out of the way.
