Hi to all.....A group of 6 or more with campervans are plannig a long weekend away ,we plan to stay on the Murray River at a camping ground with toilet facilities. We would prefer to camp in the bush but at a last resort a caravan park would do .My question is ..are there any great spots that fit this criteria....all suggestions would be welcomed
Regards....Tvanmick

The Murray is a very long river, maybe letting readers know the general area you are thinking off will generate a more quality reply.

Not only that but just to complicate things it should be noted that there are several Murray Rivers...but I suppose we can assume its THE Murray River.

There are hundreds of places along the Murray to camp starting at Lake Hume right through to Goolwa in Sa.
Just pick a starting point on the river and follow it.
Call in at a tourist info place and get a map. Easy as. Then you can pick your own spot.
Wife and I followed the Murray and camped free at many spots for a total of 2 months with never more than 3 days in the one place.
Man just EXPLORE and enjoy.

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

Just a few km south of Morgan SA on the Blanchetown road (western side of the river) - a property has bush camping along a few km of riverfront.... there is a sizeable billabong too. Known as Cordola - you can let yourself in and pay at the gate on an honesty basis - the farmhouse is adjacent to the gate. Take some wood but - quite a pleasant place - no facilities. Its close enough to Morgan to scoot in for whatever you may need.

Take the River Road along the Hattah Kulkyne National Park, plenty of beautiful spots along there - that is south east of Mildura. Was great there for my first bushcamping with our outfit.

you can drive to manum and go across the ferry and then turn right drive past the shacks and you will see a large camping ground there are toilets there but no showers good place right on the river front good fishing, and the good thing is if you run out of amber you just jump in your car and go back across the ferry and your in manum in a few minuts all free.
