Does anyone know what sort of permit is required for this route? Or is in not worth it?

Regards,

Eric

You can pick one up at Glen Helen as well.

Its a long bumpy road, more pot holes than corrugations. Be sure to pop in on Gosse Bluff (included in your permit). On your way there is a lookout which gives you an impressive view of the Bluff from a distance.

Other than that, your permit does not permit you stop along the road - go figure.

Bit of a rough track, not suited to caravans or lightly built campers.

It's a good route to stop back tracking and gets you from Kings Canyon to Redbank Gorge (past Glen Helen), or Palm Valley on the lower road. You can also pick up a pass at Kings Canyon if coming from that way. Can only buy it from the rangers station at KC on the day of travel.

We came across a disconsolate family who busted a spring hanger and flipped their neighbours borrowed camper about 100k from Hermansburg in July.
