Good fridge uses less power than a Engel but have seen a few control panels fail fancy control panels like waeco they accasionally fail.

Have had a Bushman fridge for over three-years and am still as pleased with it as the day I bought it. It has performed extremely well except for the temperature display quitting one day. One phone call later and fridge was picked up, repaired and delivered back the next day -- I reckon that's fantastic customer service. Current draw is quite low and haven't had it drain the battery.

And the dual power system makes it the ideal companion for barbies.

Yep happy with mine, in use at home all the time and great on the tracks 3yrs old. At the last 4by/camp show I picked up the adjustable basket and they through in the widget to help secure the cable from working its way out. I put in an extra fan to assist moving the air around when packed in the vehicle. Switch it on when in the tropics. I haven't had any other fridges. Same compressor as Engel, very simmilar current draw. I rate it pretty close to the Engel from full comparo in mag'

I have one of the "original" bushmans. It's 6 years old next Feb. The only problem I had was the power plug coming loose after bouncing around Fraser Island for a week or so in 2000. A new lead under warranty (ie free, no questions asked) and it has been OK since.

I like the ability to set the temperature and you can see what it gets down to. We generally use ours as a Freezer (-15), so we work it pretty hard.

We got a bag to help with insulation and to protect it from marks etc.

Overall the Bushman was a good buy (we paid $899 in 2000 cf an Engel $1250), so we think we got value for money.

Bushman fridge - we have a 42 ltr one (high lid) - just done 20,000 around Oz and it never missed a beat - we found we could keep meat for example up to 5 days (not frozen) - never lost a single thing through failure. Low draw on battery - never drained the battery - even after 5 days in Karijinni NP - recommend it absolutely. We have the two lids and travel bag - from Carac in Dandenong - if you havent got dual battery - get one of the battery cut out things(???) - plug it into power inlet on fridge and in car - will cut the fridge off if battery is running low - we use this thing always if using our running battery - i.e for light, shower etc. - pretty cheap (under $30 I think) - don't bother on deep cycle battery.
