checked your CV's? Could it be the CV's have worn a groove in the race for going in a straight line, and when you turn the balls are being pushed in and out of this groove making the grinding noise?
I have noticed with the new thicker (4-Way) stabiliser, the spring over the outside rubs on a steering arm fairly often, but it doesnt give any grinding or
feedback thru the wheel.
If replacing the stabiliser, stop past Kmart and grab one of their cast $3 tie-rod forks. Its just a 2-pronged fork that acts like a wedge- you belt it in with a hammer and it slowly drifts off your stabiliser bush- I tried to encourage mine off with every word I could think of, but only the Kmart fork actually helped.
