ARB LOCKERS

i recently had ARB diff locks installed in the front and rear of a jeep. dana 44 rear and dana 30 front. these were installed using the ARB compressor as per instructions. they work very well however i find disengaging is very slow and makes turning in mud or dirt difficult for a short while. hopefully some users will respond as to the approximate time needed to disengage in their vehicles. engaging them is very easy and quick but disengaging is the problem. cheers, robert

Hi Robert, if the axles are underload the lockers will not disengage. Sometimes you have to momentarily back off on the throttle and possible straighten the front wheels (if you are turning hard on a fairly firm surface) to get them to unlock. You get used to them and they are great things.

Ditto above. Ease off the load by straigtening or back off.

If they still don't disengage easily you might need to get them looked at.

I have front and rear air lockers and have had no trouble but a couple of mates have had some trouble and each time its been with installation. (Different issues to your tho)

Almost instant disengagement on mine.... make sure you are running thesame pressures front to back and thesame size tyres, and as above..take the strain off the driveline to allow them to disengage.
If nothing works, have a look at the solenoid exhaust ports...if there is mufflers on them, remove them.

Have you asked on www.ausjeepoffroad.com? Since buying a jeep this year it has helped me no end. I got a lockrite put in the front of my wrangler and love it would have prefered the ARB but couldn't afford it yet.
