Terracan climate control

Has anyone who owns aTerracan Highlander had trouble with climate control. On long trips ours will pack it in fan will be on high but no air is delivered to cabin. If you stop for an hour or so system will work fine again. I noticed after driving all day and pulled up at motel water dripprd out of airconditioner for about 2hrs which leads me to suspect system is forming ice within it which blocks air flow.
Would appreciate any advice on this matter

G'day Chats,
Sounds like your theory could be right.
The problem is probably with the thermostat.
If it is, then it could be a bit of a job to replace.
Is it under warranty? A dealer should be able sort it out.
The thermostat usually sit under the dash mounted on to the
A/C unit and a sensor wire runs in inside the unit and sits against
the evapourator. If it is not situated correctly or if the t/stat has failed
electrically then it will need to be replaced which may requires the dash
to be removed to access the A/C unit.
As I said it's a job to do.

yes I suspect that too, what is happening is the system just keeps pumping the cold air, until it freezes up. When you stop the ice melts and off you again, until the whole cycle starts again.

So the dealer says he cannot duplicate the fault, try and freeze it up for when you get there. Whilst water coming from the drain is normal, large amounts indicate the unit is freezing up.

Problem may also be short on gas. Check sight glass for bubbles.

pretty sure climate control in the Highlander's been discussed. I have the base model so can't help otherwise.
