My Prado was part of a re-call a few months back.
BIG TIPs.
1. not contact your local Toyoat dealer about the re-call as they usually know very little
2. The dealerships will not carry out any work, modifications, etc., associated with the re-call unless you have a letter from Toyota
Australia advising of "YOUR" vehicles repair/modification requirements.
3. You need to contact Toyota
Australia (best of luck) and ensure your details are up to date with them so the letter can be sent out....

Call 1800 252 097 for Toyota Customer Relations Department and they can change it over the phone or you can fill out the form in your owners manual and post it in.
However if they already sent the letter to their registered owner then they probably won't send another to you. If you ring them they might be able to re send the letter or tell you over the phone if you need to worry about at all.

G'day All
I sold my 1989 4 Runner, model LN130, in August last year and the new owner has already recieved his recall letter.
There is no need to contact Toyota as the vehicle is found through it's registration details (vin number).
If you wish you can contact your toyota dealer and they will check the vin number for you.
I went to my local dealer to check if my Praydo was in the balljoint recall and they just checked the vin number and said it was ok.
Hope this helps.
Safe travells
Jim-Bob.
