We have just come back from an interesting couple of days in the High Country. Travelled from
Dargo to Omeo via Birregun Track past the Dog's Grave. We spent the night in Omeo and then came down through Cassilis and turned approx 5 kms from Swifts Creek onto the Brookville Road..went up past Brookville and across the Baldhead Road, then onto Jones Road and back to
Dargo. Excellent trip. Stayed in 2Wd all the way but there were a couple of spots back along Jones Road that would be 4WD if it was wet. Well worth the trip. There has been alot of storm damage in the trees and quite a few branches on the side of Jones Road, although we didn't have to stop for any.
Stanm if you are interested the distances were:
14 kms
Dargo to Madigans Bridge (
Dargo River)
7 kms further along Jones Road to junction of Birregun Road.
25 kms along Birregun Road to Dog's Grave.
34 kms from Dog's Grave to Omeo.
On the way home 18.6 kms from Seldom Seen hut to junction of Jones Road and Birregun Road.
Hope this may be of some help.
Regards.
Bill
