Sump Guard

Submitted: Monday, Dec 05, 2005 at 07:08

Member - Matt L (NSW)

I gave my 100 series TD cruiser a bit of a kiss on the under side on the weekend and managed to rip off the plastic cover that is the extension to the steel sump guard.

I have trouble understanding why they would use plastic.

My question is, does it actually need to be replaced and/or are there any better after market solutions available.

Thanks,

Matt

It's proberly more of a splash guard than a protection guard. If you are concerned about the need for a more solid guard look at getting one made.

A guard like rally cars use, made of strong alloy.

I can make one for you with laminated carbon fibre??
However, beleive it, there is a world shortage of carbon fibre at the moment since 'they' started building the Airbus 380
