What I did in my holidays...

Submitted: Sunday, Jan 15, 2006 at 18:35

Lone Wolf

... as well as eat, drink, sleep, eat......

Started on my 4 Kayak Trailer.

Fully loaded, with 4 Kayaks, and accessories, it will come in at 220 kilo’s.
Independent suspension, so we can traverse sandy 2 wheel tracks without having an axle perform the work of a grader.

All that is left to do is the 2 inverted “T” frames to hold the yaks, and 2 x 800 x 800 x 150 Stainless steel lockers to the rear ( in receptacles on framework ) to hold PFD’s etc.

Paint will be black, grey & yellow.

Will keep ya posted.

Cheers

Wolfie

Bit more sophisticated than the six kayak one I used to have around Wolfie. It is now a service trailer and the racks take welding leads and the like. I didn't need to get down such rough tracks but did get into the Snowy, Mitchell, Thompson and the Big rivers

Are you shure its strong enough? The drawer bar connection seems a little underdone to me. (not)
I can carry at least 6 on mine if I have to which is a slightly modified 7' x 4' box trailer with a 4" x 4" extended draw bar and some 1 1/4" pipe welded to make a carry frame.
My biggest problem is getting to the water. It's about 100yds from the back door. Haven't got it wet in about 12months bummer!!!!!!!
If your up around Berri, we could catch up for a paddle in some little backwater.

yes you will definitely have trouble with that drawbar/hitch area, very underdone, dangerous even, back to the drawing board.......

...hopefully no tour buses where you're going. I'd love to see you do a 3 point turn!

Seriously - it looks really good. I know who to speak to when we look at updating the lifesaving club's ski trailer.
