I have a 2002 Exceed to which I have fitted a GME TX3400. Unit sits under passenger seat. Detachable control head is fitted into the centre console. Broomstick arial clamped onto bullbar.
Works well and basically all out of the way.

It's a bit vulnerable under the seat in river crossings.

If you don't have the CD stacker then a GME TX4400 fit's very nicely in that hole.

I've had my TX3400 mounted under the dash on the passenger side, with the remote head in the lower glovebox. Very discreet which is a bonus for onstreet parking. The antenna is a giveaway, but a would-be thief can't scope out the radio and decide on the quickest way to remove it before breaking into the vehicle.

If you want to be really discreet there are antennae available that stick onto the inside of your windscreen and are virtually invisible from the outside.-Steve

Anthony,
Got a TX3400 in both the Rangie and the Patrol both units are dash and under seat. Makes it a bit harder for would be thief to take quickly being in two places. Good radio in my opinion I've had no problems, if you do a lot of river crossings stick the unit in the glovebox. My opinons others may vary.
Keep the shiny side up

Hi Anthony,
I have a GMEtx4400 and is mounted to anoverhead console. This works well for me and gives extra storage space for bits and pieces. (I have a 2004 Pajero)
