Aha! The old umbilical hernia trick hey!

Don't worry too much mate. They open you up, push it back in and hopefully put a bit of mesh in there to stop it "popping" again. All in all, only a slight bit of discomfort for a while, but definitely no lifting for at least six weeks. I drove to work the day after mine got done.

Dunno if that's a good idea. The don't recommend women drive after a caeser for the same reason but their potential to haemorrhage after the same impact is much greater.

What did your doc recommend?

Bugger. I have heard about these, but never experienced it. I've had my bicep peel off from my bone, last year, and it smarts, let me tell you.

I guess you are self employed, like me, so you'll be back to work by next Wednesday... lol

Why five days in hospital? Why not at home? I guess they have to monitor something...?

Get well soon

Aha! The old torn the biceps of the humorous trick hey!

Football, cricket, squash, hocket and motorbikes have rendered this Wombat defective on a number of occasions. I've broken many bones (nose, collarbone, leg, arms, ribs, coccyx, orbit), dislocated fingers, strained and torn various muscles, had an complete ankle reconstruction, front tooth knocked clean out of my head with a hockey stick and then pushed back in sans anaesthetic, and had a couple of operations but I can concur with you Ian - Nothing hurts like tearing your biceps from the bone.

It looks pretty good though, ' cos with nothing holding one end down you swell up like Arnie at a Mr Universe contest.

Seen it all before. Nothing that can't be fixed with a bit of duct tape, a few tek screws and some 10 guage fencing wire. Alright, if you are going to be a sook, a couple of slurps of Bundy.

Now, on a more serious note.

Did it hurt really badly? Like on a scale of 1 to 10? Exactly how did you do it (can I have a diagram?) Is it covered by health insurance? And do you reckon I could go fishing during the 6 weeks off? Only that I am all out of holidays but have years of sick leave due.

Don't laugh, wouldn't want the stitches to burst !!! Get well soon - the bush needs you.

I'm sure they used the fencing wire as the staples 16 in all.
The duct tape was used over the mouth.
And the bundy is purely for medicinal purposes.

The funny thing is it didn't hurt at all even after the operation the nurses wanted to administer plenty of pain killers but they weren't really needed.

I am basically a sook when it comes to pain so I wasn't being a hero.
