Fitch update?

Submitted: Friday, Feb 03, 2006 at 15:27

Calling Roachie. How about we get a mid Friday afternoon update on the Fritch experiment? Guess it hasn't arrived yet or not yet fitted - still reading the manual? Or has it been too good and you're keeping the news from us all?

Okay Okay Okay......

Looks like you might all have to start thinking that anybody with the first name of "Bill" needs to be steered clear of, lest they try to entice you with their charms and tall stories...hahahaha

The Fitch arrived on Monday in good shape and was fitted to the motor in about 20 minutes. The hardest part was finding somewhere to put it. In the end I had to remove the Morisons Debug unit and mount the Fitch on the top of the inlet manifold just above the fuel pump. The other time consuming part was that the existing hose from the filter to the pump was not long enough to reach up to the top of the Fitch, so I had to contort myself to get to the bottom hose clamp on the pump, to remove the existing hose and fit a longer bit from it to the top of the Fitch. The other hose goes from the outlet side of the filter, to the bottom of the Fitch. Easy enough.

Now, I know you're not gunna believe me, but I swear that the bloody thing runs smoother, and starts easier now than it did before. With my dual battery set-up, I can isolate the 2nd battery whenever I like and i usually start it up each morning just using the main battery. If it's a cold morning, I switch on the 2nd battery and it starts MUCH easier with the 2 batteries in parralel. Well, since fitting the Fitch, the starter motor fires the donk up (with only the main battery "ON"), just like it does with the 2 batteries linked.....IE: less cranking time.

Idle seems a bit smoother and no black smoke on start up....(note: with my 3" exhaust having the tail pipe exiting out the side, behind the rear tyre, I can see the exhaust in the passenger's side mirror).

Too early to tell yet as to whether the mileage is gunna improve......we'll have to wait and see.

So far so good.....I'm impressed. Don't forget, I've got reason to say these things just to make myself feel better for shelling out the buck$, as I know I can get a refund if I don't like the result after 90 days or so.

Cheers

Roachie

Hmmm!!!! Did you consult the real Bill S over fitting in that location?
You sure it won't void the warranty / money back guarantee thingy????

I'm sure Bill S would have said it needs to be fitted somewhere else to gain the real fuel performance that you may now miss out on by fitting it where you did. LOL.

I think I may also have mentioned a long time ago that it was my $385 experiment that others can benefit from. Your figures are way better than mine ever were because I had not recorded them for as long as you. On my car the overpriced peach can works, it will be very (very very very very very very) interestiong to hear about your consumption. I also swore the first time I started the car that it was doing different things so I hear you, but because it is unquantifiable it hardly worth noting as it kind of sounds shifty and defensive. Good luck.

One thing is for sure, $385 aint really that much to throw on your car for an earnest test, most people pay more than that on crap they dont need, half a moths car payment, half hour at crown cassino (not a fair service or product), or 3 months worth of mars bars!

I'm known for giving things a fair go........the ShuRoo......the Morison's DeBug.......the CounterAct Rust Prevention system etc etc. If I don't think something works (for me), I get rid of it....hence no GPS will be found in my Patrol any longer.....it worked okay, but I'm a stubby short of a 6 pack when it comes to understanding these bloody things and OziExplorer etc, so....SOLD

Besides which you must have so much on now that when you have to squish something else in, something will have to come off!

Reminds me of that old beer commercial with the tower of slabs in the ute - "Better chuck a bottle of sherry on for the Sheila's" and the back suspension collapses. Good thing you have the Lovells springs,
TJM XGS shockers and Polyairs or this would have happened long ago. :o)

OK GUYS & Gals, I just could not help but to answer this question BY odyssey quote whats a FITCH.
Well here goes a FITCH is a fuel catalyst that is helping AUSTRALIA and its people who drive motor vehicles by,
1/ Reducung exhaust pollutants by up to 50% +
2 Saving the average motorist more than a litre of fuel for every 100klms driven.
3/Reducing pollutants into the engine oil by up to 70%.
4/ Gaining between 5%&10% power increase.
5/ Extending the life of injectors and inj pumps.
6/ dramatically extending the life of exhaust CATALYSTS,this is brought about by the better burn of the fuel,
Down side[ You must pay for it) Thats 6 to 1 odds not bad
For further information read the LAND 2/2/06 page 32 new products.

I am as always , a bit confused.

I don't have a fitch or any other brand of fuel catalyst, but I do have a catalytic converter on a vehicle I own.
Apparently they work on similar principle ( have a look at the definition of a catalyst )

I have seen fuel catalysts as I have said in a previouse post or reply ( sorry too lazy to a search tonight )

So as they have no moving parts, that most of us can understand, how can we tell if they are working or not?

I reckon it would be nice if they had a "TEST" button on them to reasure us.

(Gee I hope my catalytic converter is still working, might have to book it in to an authorised dealership next week and get it checked. Better half might start worrying otherwise!)

I KNOW my catalytic converter works. (other wise I would have to buy a new one, wouldn't I )

Bingo Eddy, you've just stumble upon the perfect object to sell, now all you have to do is link the above object to some yank style advertising ie. ' If you tell people that it's a good thing, enough times, they will eventually believe it '
Get a smart lawyer to word your warranty, so there is no recourse,
then sit back and wait for the money to roll in!
